This morning I successfully ran 2 miles on asphalt in my KSO Vibrams. It was 39 degrees Farenheit, which in my book is still too cold for straight barefoot. However, I have improved greatly on my barefoot form, concentrating on the foot moving in a springy motion rather vertically at the beginning and end of each step. It feels incredibly light. I still felt like I was getting a workout aerobically and I had to think harder about maintaining form into the last 1/2 mile, but it is the hardest surface I have run on since being converted to barefoot fanaticism. Kiwi, used to running 20 miles off leash with Greg in the wilderness, was just about 97% perfect for me, heeling beautifully. A world of asphalt running paths is opening up to me.

I may have to get some tips on form from you, when I tried it, my shins screamed at me. Audibly.
Beth, you just need to run a few miles barefoot with Dad all at once. Your shins will burn for a couple of days, and then as soon as they recover, the screaming problem will be taken care of (at least the audible part). I speak from experience 😀
Natalie is being funny. Really, you DO need to work on form before you go very far barefoot, so that you don’t hurt yourself –
