Today we continue the saga of the swimming pool, but over at the D&B Supply blog, where I talk about how my personal engineer figured out how to empty the pool (which we needed to be done that day) with just a few extra pieces of PVC pipe and connectors.  He did use a bit of rope and cardboard, too, but that is all explained.  I will never cease to be amazed at how he can use his supply of potential parts that he is always saving!
