Create a Safer Swimming Pool by Putting It Only Partially In Ground

What happens when you put an energy conscious engineer and a semi-paranoid grandmother working together on a swimming pool project? You get a partially in ground swimming pool that makes them both happy! It is a project yet still unfolding, but has been functional and thoroughly enjoyed for about 3 and a half years.

One of the latest improvements was putting in a modified ladder, which is attached to another in process improvement of modular cement bench pieces. All of these features are discussed in this short video:

Now that the weather is warming up again, there will be more of the cement modules made. I can’t imagine what could be done to make my swimming pool set-up better after that, but my engineer is always surprising me with good ideas. I might also remind him of my “good idea” of putting in a sandbox next to the swimming pool, under the shade of our big trees, for the grandkids…
